I enjoyed this lesson but found this one harder to understand because there were lots of new words that I hadn’t met before. I’m still not sure that I understand the last paragraph fully. This is what I think it is:- ‘She was the kind of girl who gave her cousin silly ideas and he went along with them without stopping to think about the consequences and so it was always him who got scolded’ Could you let me know if this is correct? I’m, also, not sure about the expression ‘fonçait dans le tas’could you give me a rough English translation for that?

Your translation (for the last paragraph) is correct.
About the expression “foncer dans le tas”, it means “to charge in”.
