So many similar words in french and english,some that sound the same but have different meanings. Indeed “ancient” in english never means former, just old. Interesting also “un dirigeant.” In english we have the word “dirigible” which can mean capable of being steered, or airship. Derives from the latin “dirige” for “direct.” We’re so connected!
